DAY 10
'CELEBRATING IED ADHA'

‘Happy eid Adha for those who celebrating, may you always be blessed’.

Well it’s my first time celebrating eid adha outside of my country. How do I feel? Of course I miss my home, family, and foods.
I miss the togetherness in my homeland during the ied Adha. When celebrating eid adha in my homeland, we usually eat Sate, opor, and some other meals. But, celebrating ied adha in Tarlac is quite different. My friends and I just did a prayer together, and we went to Camiling mosque.
We went to the mosque at 06.30 am by riding a ceepney (mini bus in Philippine). We rode ceepney about 30 minutes. However, we have to walk about one kilometer from the main road to reach the mosque. It was not a big matter for walking about one kilometer because we are already used to do it.
On the way reaching the mosque, we passed such a very impressing road. The road was muddy because of the flood. We helped each other to pass the road since we sometimes our feet could not be taken away from the mud. It was also slippery. However, it was not a sad story; because we felt so happy and became the parts of our journey.
Finally, we arrived at the mosque. We were greeted well by the people. They were very friendly. However, the problem was we just arrived there after the prayer ended. We could not have a chance to do the ied prayer. We felt so regret. But we kept coming into the mosque to listen to the speech. The people there asked us about where we come from, and many other things.
At the end of the speech, we were served by the foods there. We felt very grateful because the people there were very kind. We ate together in the mosque with the people. The foods they served were beefs and rice, it tasted very delicious. ‘salamat po… Camiling people’.
After eating the foods, we decided to go back to the hostel by riding ceepney. Overall, ied adha in tarlac was not bad at all. We still could feel happy, since we are family in here.
